Linda Joy Curtis

October 10, 1946 — January 31, 2023

Linda Joy Curtis was and will continue to be a strong, loving, sweet, thoughtful, and funny woman. She raised two children and cherished, fostered, adopted, and hand raised many cats. She humbly ruled her world and created a beautiful life for many with grace and order; typically with at least one of those cats in her lap. In her early years she attended to phone calls as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell and Ma Bell and she loved her time working with children at the Perkins School for the Blind. Once her own children were well on their way she began to volunteer her time and love for animals at the Missouri Wildlife Rescue Center. She loved to tell the stories of the rescued animals that came to her home to recuperate. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world and she thought constantly about finding ways to make them feel loved. Linda passed on Tuesday, Jan 31, 2023 after spending a lot of quality time with her family. Linda will be remembered for the love she showed to her family, her beautiful and lasting friendships, her love of civic connection through her town’s government, and her deep and endless love and care for many, many fur babies. She is survived by her son Michael Chase, his wife Adrienne, and their sons Blake, Oliver, and Julian, and her daughter, Tiffany Green, and her children Raina, Pace and Summit.

Linda loved the Christian Science church and its focus on love and gratitude. Linda was conscientious about expressing gratitude everyday, even when life was toughest. In lieu of flowers please consider donating money in her memory to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Brentwood, Missouri. The address is; 2328 S. Brentwood Blvd., Brentwood, MO. 63144. For additional ways to donate beyond checks, please email them at: brentwoodcschurch@gmail.com

At her request the family will say their final goodbyes this summer at York Beach, a beautiful spot in Maine where she had the happiest memories. The ashes of a beloved cat will of course be in her lap.
