Leonard "Len" Koenig of Wright City, passed away on Friday December 27, at the age of 95. He was born August 9, 1929, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Joseph and Rose Koenig.
Len was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving as an artillery radio operator in Korea, during the Korean War. After his service he was employed at various companies as a maintenance mechanic and machinist. He retired as a machinist in 1992. Len was a member of the VFW, DAV, and the Elks Club just to name a few organizations.
He was the beloved husband of JoAnn Koenig (nee: Herzog); He is survived by his wife of 70 years, his two sons Mark (Linda) and Paul (Regina) Koenig. Four grandchildren, Marty (Sara), Eric (Brandi), Kathryn (Luke), and Nick (Emilee); four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers Max Koenig, Eugene "Jim" Koenig and Louis Koenig as well as sister Peggy Koenig.
A celebration of life visitation will be held on Monday, January 6 at Baue Memorial Funeral Home in Cave Springs at 1:30 P.M until 3:30 P.M. Immediately following will be a service.
