Leanne Uttmark

Leanne Uttmark (nee Van Laar), of Lake Saint Louis, MO, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at the age of 72. Beloved wife of Robert Uttmark; cherished daughter of the late David and Donna Van Laar. Devoted mother of Genny Van Laar, Megan Mongreig, Dennis Schmuhl, and the late Kelley (the late Jake) Branman.

Leanne was married to Bob for 26 years - Married on Valentine’s Day. She was the world’s biggest cat lover, and rescued and fostered several cats. While volunteering at an animal shelter Leanne fell in love with her rescue puppy, Bekey. Leanne took Bekey everywhere with her and loved her all 14 years of her life. Leanne was a devoted mother and wife. She was caring and loving in her own way and showed you she loved you in ways that were important to her.

Leanne loved to travel. Her dream job was being a flight attendant - that she did for TWA for 5 years. She enjoyed wearing all kinds of fun outfits, but especially loved wearing hats of all types and colors. Leanne loved to make big meals for her family. At Thanksgiving, she always bought the biggest turkey, even if there was only 5 people attending dinner. She was empathic to all and would give her shirt off her back. She was generous, kind, and always willing to help anyone and always tried to see the best in people. Leanne was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
