Leanne M. Tumulty (nee Achelpohl), Leanne Meghan of Moscow Mills, MO, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the age of 27. Loving wife of Daniel Tumulty, cherished daughter of Melissa Achelpohl and the late Robert M. Achelpohl, treasured granddaughter of John Achelpohl, James and June Jackson, and the late Beverly Joan Munson, dearest sister of Matthew Achelpohl, Rachel Achelpohl and Elijah Achelpohl, and beloved daughter-in-law of Timothy and Kathy Tumulty. Leanne was a loving niece, cousin, aunt and friend.
Leanne married the love of her life Daniel on May 28, 2014. She was the answer to his prayers and they shared a beautiful life of love and adventure. They each learned so much from each other and shared even the simplest things with joy and enthusiasm. Daniel's life was changed immediately by her love and her character, and he is so proud to call her his wife.
Leanne was so cherished by her family. She gave so much of herself when her dad became ill, supporting her mother, grandfather and siblings with a determination that was unmatched. She was her 6-year-old brother Eli's very best friend and most favorite person in the world. Their adventures will live long in his heart. Her family will be forever changed without her beautiful presence.
Leanne was a teacher with a great passion for literature. She eagerly passed this enthusiasm on to her students, making their success her highest priority. Her faith in their abilities and dreams for their futures fueled her efforts to make every lesson count.
Leanne loved the outdoors and all of nature, with her favorite pastimes being hiking, camping, and exploring the wilderness. She dreamed of moving to Alaska with Daniel to live in the mountains, explore the wilderness and discover the wildlife. She had a special affection for grizzly bears and talked of them in awe of their majesty, beauty and strength.
Leanne was a shining light to all who had the pleasure of meeting her. Her energy, wit, compassion and genuine spirit was so evident in all that she did. Leanne lived her life with no regrets and gave all of herself to anyone who needed her. She was a genuine friend and a caring soul far beyond her years. We are all better people for knowing her.
Leanne gave the world one final, beautiful gift by being an organ donor. To honor her choice, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the
Mid-America Transplant Foundation. Contributions may also be made to the Assumption School outdoor classroom fund to honor her love of learning and the outdoors.
