LaVerne A. Almstedt

LaVerne A. Almstedt (nee: Auler), of St. Charles, MO (formerly of Chicago,IL), died on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the age of 73. Loving wife of Rev.Quentin Almstedt; beloved daughter of the late Edgar and LaVerne Auler;devoted mother of Timothy (Karen) Almstedt and Jonathan (Rachel) Almstedt;cherished grandmother of Leah, Janessa, and Julia Almstedt; dear sister ofEd "Skip" (Geri) Auler.
LaVerne was a grade school teacher, then Pastor's wife for over 34 years.She loved everything having to do with the church's work, includinginvolvement in many church organizations, substitute teaching, singing inthe choir, teaching Sunday School, and being her sons' room mother in gradeschool. She was very active in LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League) andmany women's Bible classes. She loved to write devotions in her spare timeand had many published through Concordia Publishing House. In her spare timeshe loved gardening and taking long evening walks. In her own words sheprided herself by "living God's way my entire life."
