Laura Ann Kern (nee Baker), of Wentzville, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the age of 64. Loving wife of Steven A. Kern; beloved daughter of Jerry Bud and Phyllis Elaine Baker; devoted mother of Stephanie (David) Hardy, Matthew Kern, and Joel (Kara-Jay) Kern; cherished grandmother of Kate Hardy, Andrew Hardy, Emily Hardy, and Tyson Kern; dear sister of Cindy, Vicky, Kathy, David, and Lynda; loving aunt, cousin, and friend. Laura was preceded in death by her great-aunt, Beaulah "Auntie Boo" Sandford.
Family was the center of Laura’s world. With a warm heart and open arms, she devoted herself to being a loving mother and grandmother; her children and grandchildren were truly the light of her life. Affectionately known as “Nana” to her grandchildren and “Momma Kern” to many, Laura’s love reached far and wide.
She shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with Steve. Much like the romance novels she enjoyed reading, their love story was one for the books. She loved fiercely, cared deeply, and always stood as a protector for those she cherished. Selfless, thoughtful, and sincere, she consistently placed her family above all else. Laura will be remembered for her perseverance, determination, and strength.
Laura was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
