Larry Howard Scott, of Saint Peters, MO, (formerly of Dahlonega, GA) passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born October 27, 1942 in Muscatine, Iowa, son of the late Ruth and Howard Scott. Beloved husband of Genevieve Scott and his first wife, the late Patricia Scott; devoted father of Teresa (Paul) Maletich, William (Regina) Scott, Robert Scott, and Todd Krouth; loving grandfather of Amanda (Earon) Williams, Brandon (Ashley) Scott, Justin Scott, Danielle (Joe) Beyer, Whitney (Owen) Donahue, Lacey Krouth and Caleb Nalley and great grandfather of Eden Scott-Stout, Beyr Scott, Skyla Krouth, Alexandria Nalley, Willow Nalley, Vivienne Beyer, Francesca Beyer, Connor Donahue, Camilla Donahue, and Collin Donahue; treasured uncle of David (Amy) Scott and Daniel (Ludmilla) Scott; dear brother of the late Donald (Jean) Scott.
Larry was the Scout Master of Troop 565 for 7 years and the founding member of the scouting volunteer organization, “The Oldtimers.” (AlcovyOldtimers.org) He had a love for the outdoors, especially hunting and camping. A highly skilled carpenter, he took great pride in building churches and custom homes throughout his life. Later in life, Larry and Gen were instrumental in getting St. Peter Lutheran Church started in Dahlonega. Larry was a quiet man, an excellent listener, and often a voice of reason to those around him. He was a person of faith, a truly good man who was dearly loved, and his family, along with his faithful furry companion Leo, will miss him terribly.
A Memorial Service for Larry Howard Scott will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 3460 S. Chestatee Street, Dahlonega, GA on June 6 at 11 am, giving thanks for the victory he enjoys in Jesus Christ.
Interment will take place on Monday, June 8th at 11:00 am, in Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens in Snellville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to go to Alcovy Oldtimers.
