Larry D. Chitwood "LarBear"

Feb 18, 1950 — Jul 22, 2026

St. Peters, Missouri

Larry D. Chitwood “LarBear”, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife and daughters, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Susan "Sue" Chitwood; cherished son of the late Bertha and Bernell Chitwood; devoted father of Jenny (Andy) Stearns, and Amy (Josh) Lozada; loving grandfather of Zoey Stearns, Olivia Lozada, and Emily Lozada; dear brother of Kevin Chitwood.

Larry proudly served his country in the military and was a talented musician whose passion for music lasted a lifetime. He began playing lead guitar in his high school band, Fairwell Address, and approached his music with the precision and dedication of a true perfectionist. He also enjoyed bartending on the side, spending time on the golf course, traveling, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. Larry had a sweet tooth and especially enjoyed a strawberry shake made with vanilla ice cream and cookies. Larry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Larry's name to Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Services.
