LaDonna Sue Woolsey

June 14, 1948 — February 5, 2023

St. Charles, Missouri

LaDonna Sue Woolsey, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2023, at her home at the age of 74. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death.

LaDonna was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Reverend Lester Dale Gwaltney and Allien R. Gwaltney on June 14, 1948. She grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri with her three sisters where she attended Ritenour School. The family later moved to Saint Charles, Missouri in December 1962, where she currently resided.

She worked as a babysitter for both friends and neighbors. As a woman of faith, LaDonna enjoyed teaching Sunday school and attending church services. She was a longtime member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Saint Charles for many years. Most recently, she attended Bethel Pentecostal church in Saint Peters, Missouri.  Her hobbies included shopping and sharing a meal with friends.

LaDonna could be very stubborn at times, but the amount of love she had for everyone was always breathtaking. Her favorite quote was always, "You're only as old as you feel", and "I'm still a young chick!" LaDonna's favorite animal was a cow, and her favorite color was red.

As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, some of LaDonna’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. Her family will miss her very much!  She was a good soul who will be greatly missed but graciously welcomed up above.

LaDonna is survived and missed by her only daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Travis Lewis of O'Fallon, Missouri. Forever cherished and remembered by her grandchildren, Brianna (Jack) Lewis-Scott and Hannah (Jordan) Rowlett; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Matthew Scott; three sisters and their families, Linda (Leon) Midgett, Sandra (Glenn) Silvia, and Sherry (James) O'Connor, as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

LaDonna was preceded in death by her father, Lester Dale Gwaltney, her mother Allien R. Gwaltney (nee Smith), and her two grandmothers, Francis Smith and Rachel Anna Gwaltney.
