Kirkwood “Kirk” W. Himmelsbach, of Troy, MO, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 84. Beloved son of the late Alphonse and Bernadette (nee Ohmes) Himmelsbach; devoted father of Tonia Wick and Keith (Paula) Himmelsbach; dear brother of Al (Marge) Himmelsbach, Margie (Tom) Pickering, Wayne (Wilma) Himmelsbach, and Mary Jean (Mike) Withouse; cherished grandfather of Marla Seymour, April Kuhlman, Lance Kuhlman, Elizabeth (Drew) Sitton, Robbie (Brittany) Bax, Roy Tippen, Brian (Daphne) Tippen, Dustin (Sarah) Tippen, Crystal (Jason) Ratcliff, Christine (Matt) Miller, and Mark (Tabi) Himmelsbach; treasured great-grandfather of 20, great-great grandfather of 2; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Kirk is also preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn (Greg) Bax; grandson Michael Himmelsbach, great granddaughter Samantha Miller, and siblings, Larry Himmelsbach, Bernice (the late Allen) Nanney and Carol Ann Herndon.
Kirk was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as a 4th Degree Honor Guard, and was also active in the Lions Club, Elks Lodge, and Jaycees. He enjoyed staying active through softball, golf, football, and bowling. Known for his ability to fix just about anything, Kirk even enjoyed pitching horseshoes. He was an avid fan of sports and could often be found watching ESPN. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and had a lifelong appreciation for cars. Above all, Kirk cherished the friendships and community he built throughout his life. Kirk was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
