Kevin Kuschel

Kevin Kuschel, a beloved son, brother, uncle, educator, and friend, passed away peacefully in Saint Charles on Friday, September 25 at the age of 54.

Born on December 10, 1971, he was preceded in death by his sister Karrie. He is survived by his parents Ronald and Bobbie Kuschel, brother David (Stacey) Kuschel, sister Erin Darling and four nieces, Anna and Julia Kuschel and Lucy and Sadie Darling.

Family was Kevin’s greatest joy, and nothing made him happier than having everyone gathered in one room. As a caring son and brother his loyalty knew no bounds, but his role as a proud uncle was where his spirit shone brightest. Whether cheering from the sidelines, sitting in the audience or celebrating their latest achievements, Kevin never missed an opportunity to support his nieces. He also filled conversations with stories about them to anyone who would listen.

Born with Spina Bifida, Kevin spent a lifetime overcoming health obstacles and inspiring others with his determination and positive attitude. With his family’s support he achieved many things others thought impossible for someone with a disability.

Kevin was a devoted educator in the Hazelwood School District and was in his final year before retirement. He loved music and playing trivia and was a regular at a local weekly trivia competition for more than 20 years.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Spina Bifida Association of Greater St. Louis.
