Kaye Frances Gross (nee Schwartz), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Greg Gross; devoted daughter of the late Virginia Montgomery Palmer; cherished mother of Dee (Tom) Carrell, Sue (Dan) Shelley, Mark (Theresa) Gross, Laura (Dan) Stumpe, Sandy (Michelle) Gross, and Matt (Vicky) Gross; loving grandmother of 22; treasured great grandmother of 27; dear sister of the late Gerry Schwartz; precious Aunt, Cousin and Friend to many.
Kaye's life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to her faith and family, guiding every choice she made with love and purpose. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville, and a former devout member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in North County, where she helped start the Pre-School PSR and enjoyed participating in fundraising events. Kaye’s devotion to caring for others extended to St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf. She retired from Birthright after 20 years as a volunteer case worker. She was also a member of the Ferguson Historical Society and cherished her monthly luncheons with her Ferguson High School group.
Kaye always put her family and friends first, offering her time, energy, and love without hesitation. Whether taking a leadership position with Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls or supporting her children and grandchildren through their various activities, she left memories that would last a lifetime.
Kaye will be remembered for her warm heart, personalized cards, and unwavering care for others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially at the zoo or playing endless games of Farkle, Thomas the Train, and baking cookies. In her free time, Kaye enjoyed crafting, tending to her flowers, reading, and found pleasure in maintaining a clean and welcoming home.
Kaye’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and community at Breeze Park for the love, care, and support shown to both Kaye and her loved ones. They are also deeply grateful to Solace Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days.
In honor of Kaye’s lifelong love and care for others, the family kindly requests that in lieu of floral arrangements, please consider a memorial donation be made to Birthright, Alzheimer's Association or American Diabetes Association.
