Kathleen Michele Williams, age 63, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous and hard-fought battle. Born on September 24, 1962, in Beaufort, Kathleen carried the pride of being a Navy brat throughout her life and brought warmth, strength, and resilience wherever she went.
Kathleen was a devoted wife, loving mother, fierce friend, and faithful Lutheran whose life was rooted in love, loyalty, and faith in God. She had a gift for making every house feel like home. Whether through decorating, caring for those she loved, or simply creating warmth in everyday moments, Kathleen made the people around her feel safe, welcomed, and deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Dennis Shine and Walter Schoenke; her mother-in-law, Patricia Chandler; her grandfathers, George Conner and Edward Cepicky; her brother-in-law, Bob Tackett; her great-grandparents, William and Hazel Lockhart; and her uncle, Jim Holden.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Eric Williams; her children, Krystal Hutton and Brandon Tackett; and her son-in-law, William Hutton. She also leaves behind her beloved mothers, Beverly Schoenke and Sandi Shine; her great-grandmother, Bernice Cepicky; her aunt, Karen Holden; sisters Karen Shine and Jennifer Herter and their husbands; brothers Tom Schoenke, Will Schoenke, Aaron Schoenke, and Shad Schoenke; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who became family through the years.
Kathleen adored her five beloved dogs and loved them as if they were her own children. She found joy in life’s simple gifts — watching the sunrise, listening to Van Halen and Sammy Hagar, and appreciating the quiet beauty God places in everyday life. Everything she did, she did with pride, passion, and heart.
Her faith remained steadfast through every hardship. Kathleen trusted deeply in God’s promise of eternal life and took comfort in knowing that heaven was a place prepared for her. She fought bravely until the very end with remarkable strength and grace.
Kathleen’s presence, laughter, loyalty, and love will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, but the home she built within the hearts of others will remain forever.
“And in the end, on dreams we will depend. That’s what love is made of.”
