Kathleen (Kathy) Sue Alsup, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the age of 68. Loving wife of Buddy Earl Alsup; beloved daughter of the late John Henry and Bonnie June Miller; devoted mother of Anthony Scott (Sheila) Alsup and Amy (Adam) Grunwaldt; cherished grandmother of Ethan Winchester, Jacob Grunwaldt, and Carly Grunwaldt; dear sister of Kristine (James) Jenkins; sister in law of the late Lorraine Archer, Vicky Alsup, Rufus Alsup, Tina Ash, Todd Alsup and Leslie Alsup; treasured aunt of twelve nephews and four nieces; close friend of Raymond Thweatt and Carol Prost.
Kathy shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with her high school sweetheart, Buddy. She dedicated 37 years of service as a medical librarian at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, where she supported doctors and nurses with great care and commitment. Kathy truly loved learning and found joy in going to work each day, always finding fulfilment in helping others through her role.
Kathy was known for her generous spirit and kind heart. She regularly donated food and clothing to charitable organizations and was always thinking of ways to help those in need. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, who meant the world to her. She was an exceptional grandmother who took great pride in showing up to cheer them on at sporting events, school concerts, and the many activities that were important to them.
Kathy was also passionate about maintaining her health and staying active. She enjoyed attending workout classes several times a week with one of her closest friends. She loved traveling with friends—trips that were always filled with laughter—especially visits to Florida where she could relax and enjoy time at the beach.
Kathy had a deep love for cooking and baking. She enjoyed trying new recipes, creating her own dishes, and preparing meals from scratch. Her pies were especially memorable and always a favorite among family and friends. Inviting her children and grandchildren over for family dinners was something that touched her heart. From a very young age, she also found joy in music. She especially loved spending years watching Buddy’s bands perform and attending live shows in Nashville. Those who knew Kathy well would tell you she was always a good sport about the many playful pranks Buddy loved to pull on her.
Kathy was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her love for her family, her generous spirit, and the joy she brought to everyday moments will live on in the many lives she touched.
