Karen H. Georges

Karen H. Georges (nee Leiser), of O Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Anthony Georges; cherished daughter of the late David and Hortense Leiser; devoted mother of Tammy K. (John T. Shaw) Norman-Shaw, Christina M. (Stephen P.) Buehrig and Anthony J.D. (Jennifer D.) Georges; loving grandmother of Kyle, Jaclyn, Joshua (Amanda), Addie (Anthony), Chelsey, Alexander, Sierra, Michael (Meghan), Sebastian, Rachel and Sabrina; treasured great-grandmother of Gabriel, Tatum, Odin, Skylar, Brooklyn, Paisley and Sophia and little Gwenny; dear cousin of the late Janet Schulze. 

Karen was one of a kind. She had the sweetest smile and the gentlest soul. She loved to care for people; she found purpose in helping those in need. She was a woman of faith and an active member of Immaculate Conception Dardenne Prairie.   

Karen was lovingly known as “the bow lady”. She often wore bows in her hair. She loved traveling, especially to beaches and tropical places, one of her favorites being Aruba. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader for many years. Karen loved games and had a competitive side, enjoying a good game of Farkle, Phase 10, Bingo or Ping-Pong. It is worth noting that she was the winner of the Ping-Pong championship at the Golden Games in St. Charles.  

Most meaningful in Karen’s life was her family. She and her husband shared sixty beautiful years of marriage together and built a wonderful family to share memories. Karen was the family's so called “recorder of memories” always snapping photos or recording videos. These moments will be cherished forever.  Karen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karen's name to either St. Jude Children's Hospital or Evelyn's House, 1000 North Mason Road, Creve Coeur, MO 63141. Karen’s family wanted to express sincere thanks to the staff at Evelyn’s house for the care given by this special foundation.
