Junior Leon "JL" Dover

Junior Leon “JL” Dover, of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Dover; cherished son of the late Leon Dover and Leola Konecek; devoted father of Julia (Chris) McIntyre, Shirlene Church, Anita Hamm, and Bonita Hamm; loving grandfather of Jenifer (Robert) Hamm-Elders, Clarence James "CJ" Church, and Joshua (Madi) Church; dear brother of Jimmy Dover, Johnny Dover, Carol Pace, and Jack Dover. Leon is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce.

Leon was a proud Navy veteran, a devoted father, and the rock of his family. He had a deep love for Elvis, music, and singing, and found great joy as the bandleader and guitarist for his band, SouthBound. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with cars, working as a handyman, and taking his daughters out to eat, creating memories they will always cherish. A loyal friend to many, Leon touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
