Julius Roland Calandro, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of St. Charles, MO, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of 68 years to Shirley N. Calandro; cherished son of the late Bridget and Biaggio Calandro; devoted father of Michael (Rosemary) Calandro and David (Cheryl) Calandro; loving grandfather of Bridget (Nick) Eshelman, Angelina (Dylan) Puricelli, Julia Calandro, Sophia (Cole) Distler, and Kayla (Justin) Chmura; great grandfather of six grandsons and brother-in-law of Jo Ann Simmons; dear brother of the late Vito J. Calandro; treasured uncle and friend.
Julius was a first generation Italian American. During his career he worked in the grocery business which earned him the name, “The Meat Man.” After retirement, Julius picked up the sport of golf. He was an avid boater on the Mississippi River and water skied until the rightful age of 81. He had an incredible work ethic, but above all else he was a family man. His greatest joy came from watching his family simply enjoy each other’s company around the dinner table. The loss of Julius is immense, but so are the beautiful memories he leaves behind with his family and friends. Julius was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Julius's name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
