Judith Bowden, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the age of 79. Loving wife of 48 years to the late Harold "Skip", dear daughter of the late Glennon and Genevieve Bonnot; devoted mother of Kelly (Matthew) Bender, Scott (Shawn) Bowden, and Traci Martinez; cherished Nana of Chloe, Aidan, Caleb, Jacob, Austin, and Tanner; great grandmother of Levi; and dear sister of the late Joyce (Donald) Ohlms. Judy is also survived by other extended family and dear friends.
It is fitting that she passed surrounded by her kids and grandkids because as the matriarch of her tight knit family, Judy always showed up for them. She was leader of the fan club at all of their school and sporting events. None of her children or grandchildren ever had to question how deeply they were loved, as Judy took great care to develop a special and individual relationship with each of them. With some, she bonded over sports as a die-hard Blues fan.
With others, they connected through shopping and vacations or casinos and cars. To all, she was Nana, and she was steady love.
Judy's love of travel also led her to be a travel agent and owner at First Class Travel. She delighted in planning trips for others and even more so in the memories they created. Judy was memorable herself because she could wear a fabulous party dress or a sports jersey with an equal amount of ease. She was practical, fierce, opinionated, hilarious, determined, smart, and always present. She was both practical and generous with her love. Judy is now on the ultimate vacation with a cold drink in her hand and her beloved Skip by her side. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends, which is the final reflection of just how easy it was to love her.
Memorials may be made in Judith's name to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.
