Juan Cruz Hernandez, age 97, formerly of El Paso, Texas, October 20, 2017. Cherished son of Hipolito Hernandez and Gavina Cruz de Hernandez; devoted father of Nancy Jane (Wolfgang) Ruppelt of Cypress, Texas, Juan P. (Alicia) Hernandez of Nashville, TN, and Wendell (Jacqueline Maloney) Hernandez of Wildwood, MO; loving grandfather of Marcel (Lindsay) Hernandez, Chris Lynn Hernandez, ET2 Addison M. Hernandez, and Patricio M. Hernandez; great-grandfather of Juan Cruz Hernandez; husband of Guadeloupe Hernandez; and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife Evangelina P. Hernandez.
Juan was born in Dolores, Texas, November 18, 1919. Juan served his country during WWII. While in the Army he got to travel and see many places, including the Philippines, New Guinea and Australia, and got the once in a life time chance to meet WW II General’s Douglas MacArthur and George S. Patton. Later in his life Juan started Ball Room Dancing and danced well into his 90’s. He was an avid gardener and nature enthusiast. Most of all he loved his family. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
