Joyce Ann Tainter

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Joyce Ann (Willbrand) Tainter. Joyce joined our Father in Heaven on July 5th, 2024, at Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon surrounded by family. She was 83.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wilfred “Shorty” and Alice Willbrand; and brother Dennis Willbrand.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, JR, of St. Charles; daughter, Jill, of St. Charles; son, Brian, of Troy; sister, Nancy (Bill) Hunsel, of St. Charles; 2 brothers, Gary (Vickie) of St. Peters, and Wayne (late Marie) of St. Charles; sister in law, Kathy Willbrand, of St. Peters; 5 grandchildren, Patrick, Justin, Alexis, Tristan, and Sydney; 5 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Joyce was a happy person, loved by all who knew her, and loved life itself. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and very involved in the Mothers Cub at Immanuel. Whether it was being a room mother for her two children while in school, attending their extra-curricular activities, traveling all over the US, especially the western states. When traveling  Joyce always had a strong desire to see what was coming up over the next hill and around the next curve in the road. She also enjoyed hiking, reading, snow skiing, boating, bike riding, and golfing, she was always active with family. She participated in bowling and tennis leagues. She was a perennial winner in her tennis league for many years. Joyce was also a snowbird, as she’d often go to spend time in Florida during the winter. She also enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks especially boating on the water. She did clerical work at various times outside the home which highlighted her attention to detail and amazing organizational skills.

She will be missed by all who were blessed to be touched by her joy and happiness. Heaven has welcomed an Angel who will brighten the heavens with her presence.
