Joyce L. Sauer (nee) Johnson of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on (Ascension Day) Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of 66 years to Rev. Dr. Robert C. Sauer. Joyce was born July 18, 1923 in Neenah Wisconsin to David and Mamie (Asmus) Johnson. She is survived by her loving twin daughters Sharman Klinefelter and Sheryl Sauer. She is also survived by her niece Joyce Johnson Waud of Taylorville, Illinois as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends. Joyce was also preceded in death by brothers Keith Johnson and Robert Johnson. Joyce was Baptized September 9, 1923, Confirmed June 5, 1938. She graduated high school in Taylorville, Illinois where she was head Cheerleader and May Queen. Joyce was a member of Concordia Historical Institute where she received many awards for her dedication. She was a member of Antique Club of St. Charles, Missouri. She was a member and past President of the St. Louis Swedish Council. She was a member of Bergstrom Mahler Glass Art. She enjoyed baking her Swedish delicacies and entertaining many of her loyal friends. Joyce was a member of Chapel of the Cross, St. Peters, Missouri and active in the Knitting Group till her last week. She loved animals and supported their humanitarian causes. She had an eye for antiques and beautiful things which included her friends. She also worked as a legal secretary for many years.
Service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, 907 Jungermann Road, St. Peters, Missouri. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am. Memorial gifts may be sent to Concordia Seminary Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus, St. Louis, Missouri. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah, Wisconsin. The family is being served by The Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, Missouri.
