Josey Mitchell Page, Sr., 89, of St. Charles, Missouri, peacefully entered eternal life on July 20, 2026.

Born on January 26, 1937, in Birmingham, Alabama, Josey was the son of Dr. A. Sidney Page and Mary (Josey) Page. He spent his childhood in Birmingham before attending Auburn University, where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. While at Auburn, he served as manager of the men’s basketball team, beginning a lifelong passion for Auburn athletics—especially basketball. “War Eagle” remained close to his heart throughout his life.

In 1957, Josey moved to St. Charles, Missouri, to begin his career with McDonnell Douglas, later Boeing, where he dedicated his entire professional career. Though he took great pride in his work, those who knew him best knew that family, faith, and service always came first.

On October 24, 1959, he married the love of his life, Nancy (Thro) Page. Together they shared 66 beautiful years of marriage built on unwavering love, partnership, and adventure. Side by side, they traveled the world, embracing new cultures, places, and cuisines. Yet no matter how far they traveled, their greatest joy was always coming home to their family.

Josey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his son, Dr. Josey Mitchell Page, Jr. (Karen); his daughter, Sarah Page Dolloff (John); his grandchildren, Dr. Lauren Pommert (James), Kristen Tomlan (Christopher), Josey Mitchell Page III “Trey” (Elle), Madeline Page, and Page Dolloff; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Noah, Eleanor, and Frances Pommert; Edeline and John “Jack” Tomlan; and Josey Mitchell Page IV “Jay.”

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, A. Sidney Page, Jr. and William Page.

A man of deep faith, Josey was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for many decades. He faithfully served as an usher at the 7:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, volunteered countless hours preparing parish fish fries, and alongside Nancy made home visits through the St. Vincent de Paul Society, quietly serving those in need.

His commitment to his community extended beyond the church. He volunteered as a volunteer firefighter for the city and county of St. Charles and served as treasurer of the St. Charles County Volunteer Fire District, giving generously of his time.

Josey found his greatest happiness outdoors. Whether fishing and hunting in the Canadian wilderness or spending time at Piney Ridge in Warrenton—known lovingly by his grandchildren as “Papa’s Country”—he found peace in God’s creation. For more than 50 years, Thanksgiving was marked there by a cherished family tradition, bringing his family and the outdoors together. Family vacations to Hilton Head Island became treasured annual traditions, creating memories that will be carried on for generations.

His grandchildren will remember a grandfather who never missed an opportunity to play a game, go to a sporting event, or gather everyone around the grill. He was famous for his pork steaks, often tending the grill with a cold beer in hand while surrounded by those he loved most.

Josey was a humble man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. His quiet wisdom, gentle strength, unwavering kindness, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He lived not for recognition, but for others—always willing to make any sacrifice for the happiness and well-being of his family.

His legacy is not only in the life he built, but in the family he loved, the faith he lived, and the example of humility, integrity, and selfless love that he leaves behind.

Following an anatomical gift to Saint Louis University School of Medicine, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles, Missouri on Saturday, August 22 at 11:00 with a visitation beginning at 10:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Borromeo Society of St. Vincent de Paul, or Duchesne High School.
