Joseph R. Martin

Joseph R. Martin, of Florissant, MO, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the age of 84.

Beloved husband of over 60 years to Janice Martin; cherished son of the late Joseph Weingartner and the late Mary Martin-Weingartner; devoted father of Michael (Susan) Martin and Paul (Theresa) Martin; loving grandfather of Justin Martin, Lucy Martin, Abby Martin, and Margie Martin.

Joseph Proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 444 where he served as commander and chaplain along with involvement with the Military Honor Team Post 444 at Jefferson Barracks. Joseph also was a scout leader in Troop 709, and a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church. Joseph also volunteered at the Missouri Veteran’s Home. He was on the military honors team that did many of the Jefferson Barracks ceremonies. Joseph retired from General Motors after many years of proud work. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, square dancing, fishing and playing cards.

Joseph was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
