Joseph William Mintert, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Ann “Dot” Mintert; cherished son of the late Anton Mintert and Ida Eichorn; devoted father of Cynthia (Gregory) Vickrey; and loving grandfather of Nichole Ann (Jeremy) Dearing. Joseph was preceded in death by his siblings, three sisters, Antoinette (Charles) Thorp, Rosemary (Dale) Springer, Margaret (Lee) Wenger, and four brothers, Anthony (Fran) Mintert, Henry (Jane) Mintert, Robert (Bulah May) Mintert, Charles Mintert.
Joseph, lovingly married to Dot for 72 wonderful years, lived a rich and fulfilling life. He was a farmer by trade, he was a skilled welder and worked part time at Alton Lock & Dam. Proud member of the West Alton Volunteer Fire Department and Immaculate Conception Parish. Flying his 150 Cessna was his favorite hobby. Joseph cherished fishing with Gregory, traveling to all the state parks, and attending family gatherings on the farm, where fish fries and BBQs brought loved ones together. Known for his integrity, he maintained over a dozen landlord agreements with just a handshake. Having met Dot in their childhood, they shared an inseparable bond, doing everything together. Joseph was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Joseph's name to Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
