Joseph Thomas “Joe” Bommarito, 81, of Wentzville, passed away on June 19, 2026, with family at his side. He was a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a dedicated hard worker, a veteran, and an enthusiastic outdoorsman.

Joe was born on August 3, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Pete and Ann Bommarito. Joe enlisted in the Navy on March 9, 1962, and served on the USS Lofberg (DD 759) as a Machinist’s Mate (MM) until July 30, 1965. Upon his return home, he worked as a machinist for Tech Manufacturing Company until his retirement in November of 2010. Joe also served as an auxiliary police officer with the Pine Lawn Civil Defense Police Department from 1969 to 1973.

On June 10, 1967, Joe married the love of his life, Margaret Mary Creamer. The two had known each other since birth and had spent 59 years as a married couple.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Ann Bommarito; his in-laws, James Patrick Creamer Sr., and Margaret (Aiello) Creamer; siblings, Marge Born, Pauline Hayes, Geraldine Musacchio, Lorraine Hayes, John, Dominic, Santo, and Paul Bommarito; and a beloved brother-in-law, James Patrick Creamer, Jr.

Joe is survived by his wife, Margaret Mary (Maggie); his children, Steve (Paula) and Kelly Ott (Ron); grandchildren, Adam White, Jarrod White (Rachel), Gina Huber (Danny), Nicole Ott, Patrick Ott (MaKayla), and 8 great-grandchildren; beloved sister-in-law Janet Creamer and nephews Gene, Mike, Jim and Mark Creamer and families; his sisters Toni Launius, Josephine McCreery, Maryann Yanzandt and brother Thomas Bommarito.

Joe loved to travel with his wife, and when not spending time with his family, Joe could be found tying flies, woodworking, golfing, fishing, shooting at the archery league, bowling, or hunting.

Memorials may be made in Joe's name to the American Parkinson Disease Association (apdaparkinson.org) or Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
