John T. Whobrey

John T. Whobrey, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of over 60 years to Cheryl Whobrey; devoted son of the late Mildred “Midge”  and John D. Whobrey; loving father of Maria (Kevin) Scott and Stacy (Jim) Sullivan; cherished grandfather of Nicki “Bobo” (Sean) Jackson, Kevin (Sara) Scott, Morgan Scott, and Lauren Sullivan; precious great-grandfather of Brogan Kelsch, Colton Scott, and Cason Scott; dear brother of Pamela Basille, David Whobrey, Mark Whobrey, and Tim Whobrey; cherished uncle, cousin, and friend. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Chris Whobrey and Kelly Whobrey. 

John dedicated over 35 years as a skilled Bodyman. He was a proud member of Machinist Union #9, Lodge 777. John had a passion for the military and created many models of planes, tanks, and submarines that could be found around his house. He also was very proud of his gun collection, and you could often find him cleaning his guns, riding his motorcycle or tinkering around the house. John loved to stay busy and was usually found starting a new project. He was very witty and loved to make others laugh. Although John managed to keep himself busy, he always made time for his family who he cherished dearly. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  

Memorials may be made in John's name to Dogs for Our Brave.
