John W. Pridgeon

John William Pridgeon Jr., of O Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the age of 78 peacefully in his sleep.

John was born on June 11, 1942 in Newport News, VA, to John W. Pridgeon Sr., and Emma Lou (nee Lennox) Pridgeon. John graduated from Hannibal High School in Hannibal, MO, in 1960. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1964 and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1965. John worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft for 35 years. He continued working for Boeing for five years after the company changed owners. He also obtained a professional engineer’s license.

John met Pat, his wife, in college and married her on August 22, 1964. They were married 56 years before his death.

John is survived by his wife Pat and three children, Kathy (Dennis) West, Jeffrey (Elizabeth Douglas) Pridgeon, and Joshua (Angelina Berkbigler) Pridgeon, one brother, Joseph D. (Linda) Pridgeon Sr., of Frankfort, MO, as well as seven grandchildren, T.J. (Lindsay Burm) Stephens, Emma West, Devin Pridgeon, Kyle Pridgeon, Miles Pridgeon, Chloe Pridgeon, and Jayden Caballero, and four great-grandchildren, Mikayla Burm, Kayleie Burm, Kayden Burm, and Kimber Downing. John is also survived by nephews and nieces, Jay (Kelly) Pridgeon, Troy (Rhonda) Pridgeon, Sean (Amia) Pridgeon, Bryan (Cindy) Sitarski, Kim (John) Marshall, Chris (Amber) Sitarski, and Robert Boggs, great-niece Eliza and sister-in-laws Cheryl Sitarski and Darlene Boggs.
