John J. Spalding Sr.

John J. Spalding Sr., age 76, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at home with his wife and family by his side. John is the beloved husband of Janet (Hoff), the father of Elizabeth Sutton (Joe) and John Jr (Carrie Tolbert) and five grandchildren Allyson, Julia, Ellie, Cole and Emma Boekhout (Payton). Son of Glennon and Lyda (Hays) Spalding, brother of Glen Jr (Rietta Allen), Sr. Joan Spalding (CSJ), Harold (Wanda Burke), Madelyn (Toots) Willen, William (Nancy Humphrey), Catherine (Dennis) Taylor and Mark (Pat Roach).

John served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 stationed in various US bases and in Seoul, South Korea. John was employed at Alvey Conveyor Company for over 40 years and retired in 2007. John loved working in his yard, wood working, and just recently reconnecting with old grade school and high school friends. John's most enjoyable time was spent with his first and only true Janet and his family and those most memorable times with his grandchildren who texted, called, or visited so often.

John would like to thank all the nurses at St. Peter's Siteman Center for their great care and kindness and the nurses at St. Peters BJC Infusion Center who cared for him when Rheumatoid Arthritis was his only health issue.
