John “Jack” T. Snyder, Sr. (1932-2025), a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 19, 1932, to Alma E. Snyder and John P. Snyder.
John T. Snyder, Sr. is survived by daughter, Jill D. Zarinelli (Michael), Son John T. Snyder, Jr. (Tessa Lamm), grandchildren Luciano Zarinelli, Gabby Zarinelli-Price (Mason Price), Jennifer Snyder, Amy Snyder, Brynn Snyder and great-grandchildren, Harper Price and Maverick Price, and brother, Robert "Bob" Snyder. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Carole L. Snyder, and brother, Ralph Snyder.
Jack was a matter of fact man, an avid bicyclist, traveler and educator. Bicycle trips included peddling across China, Russia, Scotland, Coast to Coast, Border to Border and various other stateside adventures.
Jack and Carole also spread their wings with trips to Australia, UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Scotland, Hawaii, Alaska and most of the US states. They also sailed on 18 cruises to places around the globe. Together, he and his wife enjoyed traveling before her passing in 2023.
Jack proudly and honorably served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He earned his Psychology Degree, MBA and went on to teach at Florissant Valley, Meramec and St. Charles Community College until he was 80, prior to that he was an industrial educator/recruiter at McDonnell Douglas.
He was involved with the Lion’s Club, American Youth Hostel and Wandering Wheels Bike Club.
