John “Rich” McGlasson

McGlasson, John "Rich", of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the age of 74. Loving husband of Janice D. McGlasson; beloved son of the late John and Helen “Irene” McGlasson; devoted father of Richard Dean McGlasson and Douglas (Stacy) McGlasson; cherished grandfather of Brittney, Brooke, Caylee and Carina; dear brother of JoAnn Roberts. John is preceded in death by his brother Darell Wayne McGlasson. John was a section manager in the equipment process engineering department at McDonnell Douglas Corporation. He retired as a principal technical specialist after 32 years with the company. During his career with McDonnell Douglas, he was credited with 2 US Patents and received many awards for his creative talent and leadership. John served in the active army reserve for 6 years with basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri and advanced training in Ft. Ord in California. Throughout his academic military and professional career, he was noted for his remarkable personality, dedication and rapport with fairness and kindness to everyone. John loved sports he was an avid bowler and golfer. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and boys club basketball, for many years, including their traveling team. He was the winner of the flight b championship one year at McDonnell Douglas. John is survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, he will be sorely missed.
