John N. “Jack” Riely

Riely, “Jack”, John N. Died peacefully at home on December 6, 2010 after a valiant fight with cancer. Beloved husband of Cathie Riely; loving father of Brendan (Rachel) Riely, Sarah Beth Zell, Paul (Sherrie) Cook and Kevin Cook. Loving grandfather of Kevalin Zell, Andrew Zell, Noel Riely and Benjamin Riely. Dear brother of Neale (Sharon) Riely, Edmund Jr. (Pat) Riely and Barbara Regina Riely. Dear uncle to his nieces, nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his infant son, Matthew Riely and his parents, Edmund and Mary Catherine Riely. Jack served his country as a captain in the First Marine Air Wing of the United States Marine Corps from 1965 until 1969, serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He worked at Citi Corp for thirty years and retired as vice president in 2001. He loved sailing, ballroom dancing, tennis and American Flyer Trains. He was very active in the Church of The Transfiguration, serving on the Vestry and teaching Christian Education. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. John’s Mercy Hospice or the charity of your choice.
