John F. Moran

John Francis Moran, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Karen Moran; cherished son of the late Bernard and Mary Moran; devoted father of Pamela (Mike) Coleman, Joanie (Tom Jenkins) Hill and Daniel (Stephanie) Moran; loving grandfather of Melissa (Andrew) Mills, Shane Coleman, Jenna Hill, Nicholas Moran and Molly Moran; dear brother of the late Patricia (Norman) Bonahoon and the late Robert Moran. 

John proudly and honorably served in the United States Army, he was stationed in Germany where he gained an appreciation for the culture, especially polka music and beer. He met his wife, Karen, in college and they were happily married for over 50 years. He retired from Boeing, after a fulfilling 35 year career. 

John was a welcoming and fun-loving person who loved life. He was always happy and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. John never knew a stranger and made many friends throughout his life. He enjoyed telling stories about growing up in his hometown of Nashville, Illinois

In his free time John enjoyed golfing, playing cards, painting, gardening and cooking. He enjoyed using his grill to make meals for his family. John enjoyed going out to the lake on the pontoon boat and spent a lot of time there with his friends. He loved watching Illini basketball and Cardinals baseball. 

Most of all, he enjoyed being a grandpa, making pancakes (worlds greatest!) for his grandkids, and taking his family on trips. He also enjoyed coaching his kids’ sports. 

John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
