John Joseph “Butch” McEnaney, of Lake St. Louis, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn “Kay” McEnaney; cherished son of the late John and Mary McEnaney; devoted father of Stacy (Ed) Schaefer and Kimberly (Joe) Hennessey; loving grandfather of Connor Schaefer, Austin Schaefer, Trevor Hennessey, Alyssa Hennessey, and Brianna Hennessey; dear brother of Rose Reidel, Carol Mangan, and Pat (Joan) McEnaney.
Butch was a proud member of Carpenters Union Local 1987 and was known as a perfectionist who always took pride in doing things the right way. He loved his tools, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Butch was a bonus dad and uncle to many children over the years and was the life of the party, always ready with a joke. He enjoyed hosting parties with Kay when they were younger and was someone his family could always count on. A devoted dad and big brother, Butch also enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity. Butch was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Butch’s name to the American Heart Association.
