John Barrett Koob

John Barrett "Barry" Koob, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Doris Grace Koob; cherished son of the late John L. and Gladys A. Koob; devoted stepfather of Melody (Sean) Carson and Mark Stringer; loving grandfather of Jackie Stringer, Destin Stringer, and Mark Stringer Jr.; dear brother of Mike (Joyce) Koob; treasured brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.

Barry proudly and honorably served in the United States Army and went on to work as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a dedicated member of Union Local #513 and found joy in gardening, caring for plants, watching sports, and classic westerns. Barry also cherished the time he spent meeting friends for lunch and conversation. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

There will be a Celebration of Life following Barry’s service at the VFW Hall off of Hwy 94 in St. Charles, Missouri.

Memorials may be made in Barry's name to Boys Town of Missouri or a Veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
