John Christopher Fruehwirth, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the age of 54. Beloved husband of Rachael Fruehwirth; cherished son of John "Jack" Fruehwirth and the late Judith Diane Fruehwirth and son-in-law of Pamela Trampe (nee Kaimann) and the late Richard Trampe; devoted father of Kallie (Austin Beckerle) Fruehwirth, Aiden "AJ" Fruehwirth, and the late John "JR" Fruehwirth; loving grandfather of Riley Beckerle and Jace Beckerle; dear brother of Jennifer (Gary) Beck and brother-in-law of Paul Trampe; dear uncle of Emily(Will) Shipley, Allison Smith, Mia Smith; Carter Beck and Josie Beck.
John was married to the love of his life, Rachael, for 20 wonderful years, and together they enjoyed vacations, attending air shows, and spending time in nature. A happy and outgoing man who never met a stranger, John was known for his great sense of humor and warm personality. He proudly served as a firefighter for 30 years with Metro North and Berkeley, and also as an auxiliary member of the Blackjack Fire Department. John loved cooking and BBQing for both the firehouse and his family, and he was always starting new projects around the house. A devoted fan of St. Louis sports, especially the Cardinals and Blues, he also had a special love for soccer and coached his daughter’s and son’s teams. Growing up, he shared a lifelong bond with his close-knit group of friends known as the “Baden Boys.” John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in John's name to BackStoppers.
