John E. Tolliver of St. Peters, MO, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019, at the age of 89. Loving husband of 66 years to Glenna J. Tolliver (Chambers). Beloved son of the late Sherman and Catherine Tolliver. Cherished father of Robert Chambers and Merry Tolliver. Loving grandfather of Karen Mullen (Dwight) and Lindsey Tolliver-Miller (Casey Pond). Great-grandfather of Jack and Delaney Mullen. Dear brother of the late Bill, Bobby, JB, Charlie, and Joyce Tolliver. Survived by brothers Jerry, Jim, Larry, and sister June. John is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
John retired from Scally Waterproofing after 35 years at the age of 60. In 1973, he decided to spend the next 46 years digging a hole and moving dirt around on the banks of the Mississippi River with his wife Glenna at his side, building what has become one of the most loved and respected marinas in Missouri, John’s Boat Harbor.
In 1965, John joined Roofers Union Local #2 and was a member for 54 years. He was also a Charter Member of Elks Lodge #2587 in O’Fallon, MO, and of the Con Trios Yacht Club.
John was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in John’s name to
