John LaRue Brubaker Jr., of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born on December 27, 1950, in Centralia, Missouri to John Larue Brubaker and Carrie Lee Parcels Brubaker, John lived a life marked by dedication to family, faith, education, and the pursuits he loved most. On June 17th of 1973, he married the love of his life, Shelley Anne Brubaker.
John was a proud father to his children, Ian Brubaker and Sarah Szachnieski, daughter in law Denise and son in law Jason. He cherished his family deeply and found immense joy in being a grandfather to Emilia Brubaker, Emma Szachnieski, and Logan Szachnieski.
A lifelong educator, John dedicated many years to shaping and inspiring the lives of students in St Louis County Special School District and The Churchill School. His patience, wisdom, and steady presence left a lasting impression on countless people throughout his career. Beyond the classroom, John was an avid motorcyclist, golfer, fisherman, and enthusiast of shooting sports. John loved his labradoodles Penney and Trever and could always be convinced to go for a walk by the two of them. He was always happiest on the open road, or sharing stories and experiences with friends and family.
John was a faithful member of the Wentzville Christian Church, and his life group, and found comfort, strength, and peace in his relationship with the Lord and Savior. His faith remained an important foundation and brought him peace in his final days.
John will be remembered for his quiet strength, giving spirit, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in his family, in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
