Joan M. Hawkins (nee Jefferson), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at the age of 86. Loving wife of 69 years to Dale Hawkins; beloved daughter of the late Marion Jefferson and Marie Crim; devoted mother of Kathie (the late Kevin) Poeling, the late Jeff Hawkins, and Kelly Hess; cherished grandmother of Crystal (Jeff) Murphy, and 5 more grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and 6 great-great-great grandchildren; dear sister of Fred Jefferson and Jerry Jefferson; beautiful friend to everyone.
Joan was a loving and beautiful soul who made friends everywhere she went. She said her two greatest accomplishments in life were marriage and motherhood. She loved her family very dearly. Joan was a dedicated follower of Christ and a member of 2 prayer groups for many years. She was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare delicious meals for her whole family. Joan worked as a director of day care, a hair stylist and was a Realtor for many years of her life. Joan was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Joan is now a guardian angel to her family and will live forever in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joan's name to the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of life for Joan will be held at a later date.
