Joan M. Freebersyser

Joan M. Freebersyser (nee Zingg), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of nearly 65 years to the late Ronald Freebersyser; cherished daughter of the late Christian and Lydia Zingg; devoted mother of Janis (Allan) Parker, David (Kelli) Freebersyser and Craig Freebersyser; loving grandmother of Brian (Misty) Wuebbels, Lisa (Rob) Cahill, Katie (Derrick) Holtgrewe, Alison (Jacob) Conklin, Trent (Mary Brinkopf) Parker, Jon Freebersyser, Tim Freebersyser, Jake (fiance Eradyn Bailey) Freebersyser, Mike (Jenny) Freebersyser, Amy Freebersyser, Patrick (Rachel) Ayers, Amanda Doering and the late Kristin Freebersyser; treasured great-grandmother of Brian, Austin, Christopher, Taylor, Raylan, Jameson, Nash, Elwood, Mavery, Carter, Nolan and Evie.

Joan was a loving wife to Ron for nearly 65 years. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with family, travel, laughter, and countless wonderful memories.

Joan enjoyed tennis, golf, and bowling, and she was an amazing painter. Music was a lifelong part of her world. As a child, her grandfather and uncle gave her many opportunities to learn valuable life lessons, including mathematics, music, and sewing. Joan played the bass violin and played the piano throughout her entire life.

Together with Ron, she enjoyed spending many Sundays together on their pontoon boat, Monday mornings at Ameristar Casino, and an annual trip to Las Vegas. They also loved traveling and were fortunate to visit many incredible places through Ron’s work, including Spain, France, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean, just to name a few.

Above all, Joan’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved teaching them, playing with them, and sharing her adventurous spirit. She would do headstands, backbends, and back dives into the pool with them. There was truly nothing Joan wouldn’t try.

Joan was a remarkable woman who lived life fully and with a wonderful sense of adventure. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
