Jimmy Llewellyn Miller

February 1, 1945 — October 16, 2025

Saint Charles, Missouri

Jimmy Llewellyn Miller, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at the age of 80.

He was a devoted husband to the late Marilyn Miller; cherished son of the late Myron and Elnora Miller; beloved father of Laura (Frederick) Benchie and Marti Miller; and proud grandfather of Samuel Benchie. Jimmy was a loving brother to Jeannine Lamb, Hazel Peterson, Merle Miller, Kyle Miller, and the late Michael Miller and Walter Miller. He is survived by many other dear family members, including Rick Quade and Jessica Eubanks, and countless friends.

Raised on a farm in Kiron, Iowa, Jimmy embraced the values of hard work, integrity and perseverance. These principles shaped his life and legacy, along with his inventive spirit and strong sense of humor.

While serving in the United States Air Force, Jimmy was stationed in South Dakota, where he met the love of his life, Marilyn. They shared 54 years of marriage and raised two daughters together. Jimmy built a successful career as a computer engineer that led them to New York, Nebraska and ultimately, St. Louis, Missouri. He was known for his masterful problem-solving and “fix it” mindset. If a solution didn’t exist, he would create one – always with determination and ingenuity.

He found joy and community through his involvement in the St. Louis and St. Charles Amateur Radio Clubs, as well as the Harley Owners Group. These passions brought him lifelong friendships and countless adventures. Jimmy also cherished time spent cheering on his grandson at soccer games and sharing his love of fishing.

Jimmy had a deep affection for animals, often taking in strays and even befriending a family of raccoons who visited him nightly for a hand-fed treat. His gentle nature and generous heart touched everyone who knew him. He was dearly loved and will be missed tremendously.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
