Jim Mason

James Stephen Mason, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 82. Devoted son of Stanley and Maxine Mason; beloved husband of the late Juanita Mason; cherished father of Shelly (Robert) Benson, Wendy (Bernhard Voss) Patterson, Steve Mason, Charlie (Ginnie) Mason; loving grandfather of Amber, Michael (Kelsie), the late Patrick, Jonathan, Adam (Katreena), Daniel (Katie), Rebecca (Chris), Tony, Michael (Megan), Michelle (Darin), Angie (Brian), Brittany, Cheyane (Matthew Deck); bonus father-in-law to Pam, treasured great-grandfather; dear brother of Marilyn; loving uncle and friend.

Jim was a man of faith and devotion; he had an active involvement in youth groups while raising his children. He worked at DDAB and was a dedicated, hands-on worker who found great joy in building, especially the 16 detailed model ships he crafted in his personal “shipyard.”

Jim loved family road trips and vacations, creating lasting memories along the way. He shared a lifelong love with Juanita, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life; he even re-proposed to her during a memorable trip to Las Vegas to renew their vows. He cherished her so deeply that he always carried her photo in his wallet.

Jim embraced life with a huge personality, a kind heart, and a fun-loving spirit. Never shy, he was known as a joker who could light up any room with laughter. James was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be planned in the future. Dates and times will be posted when available. 

Memorials may be made in James's name to CHADS Coalition for Mental Health.
