Jerry Ward

Luster “Jerry” Ward of Wright City, MO, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Arlene Ward; cherished son of Dave and Samella Brown; devoted father of Michael Jones and Timothy Ward; dear brother of Ann, Henry, Garrett, Rachel (Michael), Ella, and Martha; loving grandfather of Malik Jones, Cassidy Ward and Sydney Ward.

Affectionately known as Jerry, Luster was originally from Mississippi and moved to St. Louis in his late teens. A quiet and reserved man, he found joy in the outdoors—he loved hunting, fishing with a beer in hand, and simply spending time at home. He was a dedicated employee at General Motors, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. Jerry was also a sports enthusiast who especially enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, and he was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals and a Dallas Cowboys fan. Luster was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Luster's name to American Diabetes Association.
