February 21, 1943 — January 28, 2023

St. Charles, Missouri

Jerry Payne, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a final evening surrounded by his family on January 28, 2023.

Jerry “JP” was a loyal employee at the Ford Motor Company Hazlewood plant where he retired after almost 40 years and will be fondly remembered for his love of softball, bowling (including a 300 game!) and Busch beer. Most of all, he will be remembered for his generosity and how deeply he loved and cared for his family.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 30 years, Carol (Valentini), his loving daughters Casandra (Robert) Kampen and Stacey (Mark) Tiggard. His four grandchildren, whom he loved with his whole heart and soul Emily Kampen, Skylar Tiggard, Zachary Kampen and Harrison Tiggard; He has two wonderful brothers Allen (Sue) and Dennis (Crystal) Payne; three brothers-in-law Alton (Nancy), Daniel (Leslie) and Orlando (Nancy) Valentini. He leaves behind an Aunt, Ruth Snider, an Uncle, James Payne and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Being the selfless person he was, Jerry is an anatomical donor to Washington University Medical School. Therefore, there will be no services at this time. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Siddhartha Devarakonda for his excellent care, the staff at Siteman Cancer Center, as well as BJC Hospice for their support and kindness.
