Gerald “Jerry” Hoffman was born to Earl “Duke” and Lucille “Lou” (nee Jungermann) Hoffman on April 16, 1943, in Harvester, Missouri. He was married to the love of his life and soul mate, Beverly “Bev” (nee Nolle), on October 2, 1965. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Christie (Keith) Waddle, and one grandson, Duncan. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Betty (Jack) Dreher. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lou Ellen (Don) Kisker and brother Bill (Helen) Hoffman. He also leaves behind many, nieces, nephews and other family and friends who were a cherished part of his life.
Jerry was a great family man who worked hard to be a good provider, but nothing was more important to him than being Dad to his daughter Christie, and Papa to his grandson Duncan. He never missed an opportunity to be a great mentor to Duncan and sharing all his knowledge he had gained in his life.
Jerry proudly served his country in the Army Reserve and was honorably discharged March 22, 1970. Jerry never met a stranger and will be fondly remembered as always introducing himself with a friendly, “Hi, Jerry Hoffman, Harvester Missouri.” He started Hoffman Grading and Excavating in 1975 and ran this business with his wife Bev until 2020. He continued to assist his family, friends and neighbors until his passing.
On October 25, 2025, after 60 amazing years of marriage to his wonderful wife Bev, he was called to his eternal heavenly home after a blessed and full life of 82 years. He was an amazingly strong patriarch and role model for his family, and his support for his family never wavered. He ended his life with the same strength and dignity that he demonstrated his entire life and left us peacefully with his soul mate Bev holding one hand and Jesus taking the other.
He will be dearly missed, but he will live forever in the hearts of all who loved him. As several family members aptly said, there was a glorious welcoming party in heaven as he arrived, and we can just hear the laughter and joy among all the Jungermann parents, siblings, and cousins at that party. They are all once more together in heaven.
We love you and miss you, but we look forward to the day when we will once again be reunited in heaven. Thanks for all the loving memories.
