Jerry E. Craig

November 9, 1931 — March 17, 2018

Jerry was born November 9, 1931 in Kennett, Missouri. He was the only son born to Earnest and Mattie Craig.

On April 15, 1951, Jerry married the love of his life, Melba Jean.

Jerry and Melba moved to Saint Louis in 1953. Their marriage was blessed with three sons and one daughter.

He joined New Life Pentecostal Church in Bridgeton, Missouri in 1964 and remained a faithful member until his passing. Through the years, he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Board, Finance Committee, Choir Member, Head Usher, Hospital Care Team member, and Founder and Director of Keenagers. Jerry was a man of great faith and shared his faith in God on a daily basis. He was a master at welcoming people and loved to make people laugh.

In 1986, Jerry retired from General Motors, where he was a dedicated employee for 30 years.

Jerry and Donnie Hearn were married in 2011. She remained by his side from the beginning of his debilitating illness until his passing.  Jerry was ushered home to forever be with the Lord at 6:30 PM on March 17th, 2018.

He is proceeded in death by both parents and his wife Melba.

Jerry will be lovingly remembered by Donnie, his children, Terry, Larry (Annette), Perry, Sherry, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one sister, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Memorials may be made to New Life Christian School in Jerry’s honor.
