Jeanette Gail Huck

December 18, 1946 — May 17, 2026

O'Fallon, Missouri

Jeanette Huck (nee Hammack) passed on May 17, 2026, at the age of 79. Daughter of the late Edward and Shirley Hammack, her love lives on in her devoted daughters, Julie (Larry) Scarpace, Vicki Huck, and Carrie (Kirk) Hammond; and her beloved grandchildren, Kylie Huck, Maya Scarpace, and Carlie Scarpace, who affectionately knew her as Gram, Gram Cracker, and Mammy Lammy. She is reunited in peace with her parents, her sweet granddaughter, the late Olivia Hammond, and her best friend of 50+ years, Penny Smith.

She is also survived by her dear siblings, her twin Judy (Wayne) Thuerwaechter, Jim (Dolores) Hammack, and Patricia Adams, alongside many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

As a retired secretary for the Federal Government, Jeanette took immense pride in her career that she loved. She was a truly selfless soul, consistently putting the needs of others far ahead of her own. Her greatest and proudest achievement was her family.

To know Jeanette was to know her radiant smile, which had a way of making anyone feel instantly loved. She had a passion for shopping, an unmatched love for her family, and an incredibly special bond with her twin sister, Judy. Jeanette loved to laugh, and nothing brought her more joy than sharing it with close friends and family. You could always see her toes tapping to music and she loved finding beauty in the simple things - sitting in the sun, commenting on the shapes she’d see in the clouds on a beautiful day, or admiring the vibrant colors of the trees in the fall.

There are no public services planned at this time. To honor Jeanette’s bright spirit, the family is planning a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks, where stories will be shared and laughter will be celebrated, just as she would have wanted.

Donations appreciated in Jeanette’s honor to The Caregiver Club or the Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center at Washington University.
