Jean C. Benne

Jean C. Benne (nee Crugnale), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the age of 69. Beloved wife of Donald J. Benne; cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Shirley Crugnale; daughter-in-law of Kathleen Benne and the late Don R. Benne; devoted mother of Leslie (Justin) Welchko, Brad Benne, and the late Jonathan Benne; loving grandmother of Annie Benne, Cadence Welchko and Lucy Welchko; dear sister of Jan Crugnale-Eppard and sister-in-law to the late Michael Eppard; sister-in-law of Sarah Kirtley; treasured aunt of Garrett Dwiggins, Blake Kirtley and Katelyn Kirtley; great-aunt of Jack Dwiggins.

Jean Benne was a devoted educator, loving family member, and cherished friend whose warmth and enthusiasm touched countless lives. She dedicated nearly 30 years to teaching, including 27 wonderful years at St. Elizabeth St. Robert Regional School, where she especially enjoyed teaching history and the sacraments. Her passion for education and her students left a lasting impact on generations of young minds.

Jean was a naturally social and outgoing person who found joy in being surrounded by others. She loved traveling with family and friends, and her home was always open to gatherings filled with laughter, conversation, and love. The friendships she made throughout her life became like family to her.

She had a deep love for her beloved pets, and found relaxation in swimming and listening to her favorite music. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughters, whom she loved to spoil.

Jean was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
