Janice “Jan” M. Snopko

SNOPKO, JANICE "Jan" (nee) Zurfehr, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother through Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish O’Fallon, MO on September 4, 2017. Beloved wife of 50 years of Robert Snopko, loving mother of Dan (Holly) Snopko and Diane (Dave) Steiger, adoring grandmother of Morgan, Ericka, and Courtney Snopko, and Georgia and Oskar Steiger. Dear sister, sister-in-law, caring aunt, cousin and a friend to many.

Jan was born in St. Louis where she attended elementary and high school. In 1969 she moved to Racine, WI (where she & Bob lived for 40 years), Jan worked at St. Rita’s School, retired to seek a degree in Sociology and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2000 from University of Wisconsin Parkside. Jan subsequently became part of Habitat for Humanity in Racine. Jan’s heart brought her back to the St. Louis area to live amongst family and friends in 2010. Jan was a lifelong volunteer through various community and church programs, including tutoring ESL students, assisting with the Capuchin Novitiate program, providing meals for funerals and homeless shelters, and serving as a hospice volunteer. Jan was known for her fun-loving, caring, and affectionate personality and will be sorely missed by her loving family and multitude of friends.
