Janet Ruth Potts (nee Moore), of Rocky Mount, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late James "Jim" Potts; cherished daughter of the late Ellen May and Harry Moore; devoted mother of Melinda (Tim) O'Shea, Regina (John) Garofalo, Dave (Helana) Potts, and the late Doug (Denise-Survives) Potts; loving grandmother of Michael Potts, Andrew Potts, Melissa O'Shea, Timothy (Sarah) O'Shea, John (Kate) Garofalo, and Carlee Garofalo; treasured great grandmother of Jay Garofalo, Max Garofalo, and Jack O'Shea; dear aunt of Daniel DeWitt.

Janet was an active member of her church and volunteered at Hope House. She was the Matriarch at Jackson Branch Cove, she loved her family and looked out for her children, grandkids, and great grandkids. Janet enjoyed traveling with husband, Jim, often flying to many different destinations together. She loved to camp at different sites and instilled the love of nature in her children. Janet was just the best mom ever. She was a great baker, famous for her pies and especially her crust; She could make any kind of pie from pineapple to raisin, and she made their family gatherings excellent with lots of good food. Janet loved reggae music and she’d always sit and tap her foot to the beat. She also loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs games and would get so into it on game days. Janet was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
