James A. Woodland

February 25, 1946 — July 14, 2022

St. Peters, Missouri

James A. Woodland, of St. Peters, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Brenda Woodland; loving son of the late Alvie and Katherine Woodland; devoted father of Catherine (Kevin) Axe and Daniel J. Woodland; cherished grandfather of Autumn N. Axe and Keaten Woodland; dear brother of Joan Vargo and Dennis (Elise) Woodland; loving uncle, great uncle, and friend of many.

James proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force. He was a police officer with the Bridgeton Police Department until his retirement in 2011. James married the love of his life, Brenda, on August 28, 1971, and together they shared 50 beautiful years. They traveled often and enjoyed time spent with family. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye and so very important to him. James was a very generous and supportive person; his love was felt by those he cared for most dearly and truly. He never judged a soul and held compassion for everyone he met. James was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in James's name to Susan G. Komen.
